Teen Facials and the Benefits of Teen Facials
Teen Facial and the Benefits of Teen Facials
Did you know?
Female skin starts to age as young as 15 years old; environmental factors such as the o-zone disappearing is one major cause. Male skin does not age as quickly as female skin does as men have 20% more collagen in their skin than women do.
Teen Facials
It’s never too early to start taking care of your skin. Women start the aging process at 15 years of age now because of the o – zone disappearing and other environmental factors.
Facials are an easy way to learn how to take care of your skin from an early age. Products designed to cleanse, treat and prevent common teen – skin problems are all utilized in a Teen Facial Service.
What is the difference between Teen skin and Adult Skin?
Teen skin is a skin that is going through major life changes. Skin that was once clear and free of imperfections may be more prone to breakouts during the teen years. Hormonal fluctuations, stress, late nights spent studying and an unbalanced diet may all affect your skin in a negative way during these times.
Adult skin rarely has hormonal fluctuations, except during times of pregnancy or menopause. Adult skin is usually balanced and benefits from moisturizing products rather than purifying or balancing. However; adult skin can be unbalanced with conditions such as adult acne.
How Should Teen Skin be cared for?
Teen skin generally produces more oil secretions than adult skin. Therefore; products that purify and balance should be utilized to help balance oil secretions.
Did you know? One of the major causes of an over production in oil during the teen years is from cleansing it too much!
Some teens cleanse their skin up to three times a day! This causes their skin to pump up its oil production to protect itself from being dehydrated. Suddenly their skin is super oily again and it just becomes a vicious cycle!
Here are 3 guidelines on how to treat Teen Skin
Here are 3 guidelines on how to treat Teen Skin
1. Cleanse Skin – Only cleanse skin twice a day, once in the morning, and once before bed. Use a cleanser that is purifying (such as Oligopur Purifying Cleansing Gel) which uses Normaline (red algae extract) which has purifying and antibacterial properties to prevent breakouts.
2. Tone – Toning skin returns your skin to its natural Ph level and removes any left over residue from water or cleanser. (I recommend Oligopur Toning Gel)
3. Moisturize – Yes! Oily skin needs moisture too! This will help to balance secretions (remember why your skin is producing so much oil? From over-cleansing?) Adding a moisturizer will prevent your skin from needing to up its oil production; therefore; less oil means less acne.
For Oily and Combination Skin – Oligopur Shine Control Moisturizing Fluid, which moisturizes your skin while leaving it matte and shine free.
For Oily Skin – Oligopur Balancing Emulsion helps to balance oil secretions.
Follow these three steps and repeat them morning and night for 28 days to let your skin get used to the products ingredients. (It takes 28 days for your skin to renew itself, by the end of the 28 days, your skin will be used to any changes you have made to your skin care routine at home!)

These are also some great tips for controlling breakouts and acne:
1. Use a new face cloth every time you cleanse your skin
2. Change your pillow case once to twice a week, switch sides nightly.
3. Disinfect cell phones and any other devices that touch your skin
4. Try not to touch or poke your skin with dirty nails and fingers – keep finger nails short.
5. Do not pick at blemishes – this can cause scarring and further infections
What is the difference between a Teen Facial and Cleansing my skin at home?
Professional Teen Facials include a method of cleansing the skin called Extractions. This is using a metal implement to squeeze any impurities (such as blackheads) out of your pores. It is non – invasive (does not enter your skin) and does not cause bleeding or scarring. This also prevents any flare - ups of further breakouts because it gets rid of excess dirt that can turn into pimples and blemishes. This is a safer way to “pop” pimples and blemishes because there is no chance of scarring or re-infection.
Are Teen Facials Expensive?
Teen Facials can range in price anywhere from $ 50 to $100, so it depends on which spa you choose to visit. For the best results, estheticians will suggest anyone who is trying to treat a certain skin condition (such as acne) come in for a regular facial once per month.
