"Count Down to Prom" Your Prom Makeup Bag Made Simple!
Your Prom Makeup Bag Made Simple.
Everything you need to keep your perfect look looking perfect!
Prom is probably going to be the second busiest formal day next to your wedding day. The frantic running around to get your hair done, you makeup done, pictures taken and all the formalities can leave even the most polished prom queen looking (and feeling) a little frazzled.
Make sure you’re ready for the big day by putting together an “emergency bag” to carry around with in your purse during prom:
1. Bobbie Pins: Your updo looks perfect now - but after a couple of hours of running here to there can cause your perfect updo to turn into a mess! Carry a few extra bobbie pins in your purse just incase.
2. Oil Blotting Papers: Excess oil on your skin will cause your makeup to come off half way through the day. Use oil blotting papers to absorb the excess oil whenever you feel you need it. I recommended Jane Iredale Oil Blotting Sheets which are made from 100% natural rice paper and work wonders in absorbing excess oil mid day.
3. Pressed Powder: This will also help to control oil during the day and keep you makeup in its place! Not to mention, it will make you complexion look for unified and flawless over your foundation. I like Jane Iredale Pressed Minerals - they come in an array of shades that match any skin tone and look completely flawless, plus they don’t clog pores and cause irritation.
4. Lipstick or Lipgloss: Whichever one you choose, keep it in your purse for touch ups. You’ll loose a lot of your color from all of the kisses you’ll be giving to proud relatives; plus, a lipgloss will keep your lips moisturized and looking plump. Jane Iredale Pure Gloss for Lips or Pure Moist Lip color use organic vegetable based oils, so they’re healthy for you and the environment.
5. Blush or Bronzer - Keep your cheek bones highlighted with blush or bronzer. Not only will they complete your look, but your cheek bones will stand out in photos.
Of course, the best possible makeup you could wear is a healthy skin. Below are some tips to get your skin looking gorgeous before grad and prom:
1. Drink Water! Drink at least 8 cups of water a day to hydrate your skin from the inside out and help to get rid of any built up toxins in your skin.
2. Healthy Diet: Avoid sugar at all costs and extremely fatty foods. These can up set your skin and cause blemishes. Focus on eating a healthy diet of fruits, grains, vegetables, lean proteins and seafood not just around prom, but all the time! Of course, treats are unavoidable, just consume in moderation. What you feed your body on the inside is going to show it’s face on the outside so keep this in mind!
3. Clean pillow cases every couple of days to avoid sleeping on the same bacteria. This will prevent any further blemishes on your skin; as well, sleep with your hair off your face. Natural oil in your hair can also cause blemishes on your skin.
4. Clean your face with new face clothes every day especially if you do suffer from acne. Just because your face cloth gets wet during the cleansing process doesn’t mean it’s clean; it keeps bacteria from your face and stores it as a breeding ground for more bacteria. If you don’t suffer from acne, use the face cloth in the morning, then at night before bed and use a fresh one the next morning.
