Having Plump and Juicy Lips

Pucker up! As it is starting to get cooler and windier, it is important to protect your lips to keep them plump and juicy.

  • Drink lots of water. Just like other parts of your body, your lips need to stay hydrated. You’ve probably noticed when you have been drinking coffee or alcohol, that your lips can become tight and maybe a little flaky. Water helps to prevent the cracking that may occur with dry lips.

  • Exfoliate. You can actually find exfoliants that are made specifically for the lips. Again, you want to look for natural ingredients, like brown sugar. You can also apply an enzymatic exfoliant to the lips and leave on for a few minutes. They just don’t taste as nice.

  • Lip balms are the obvious solutions. Try using lip balms with natural ingredients to avoid drying them out even more.

  • Avoid licking your lips. It’s an instant relief, but certain enzymes in your saliva can actually dry out your lips even more.

  • Apply your eye cream around your lip line as well to help prevent any fine lines that may lead to your lipstick bleeding.

  • Glosses will give you some moisture and will make your lips look less dry than they are. However, if they are flaky, apply some lip balm before you apply your gloss or lipstick.
